5 inspirations of effective team management from Agnieszka Kolanowska

Effective team management requires outstanding leadership skills, adaptability and compromise-seeking, especially in today’s dynamic Polish market.

Leadership is the art of inspiring, mobilizing and directing the efforts of a team to achieve a common result. It requires developed communication skills and the ability to build mutual understanding among participants. A true leader listens to his team, understands their needs and opinions, and guides their ideas for the benefit of all.

Agnieszka Kolanowska, General Manager of Smart Solutions in Poland, will talk about how to effectively manage a team and be a leader.

Now my mission is to connect different worlds, our team is international and we have to find solutions that will be effective for our cooperation. This is a very interesting experience not only for a leader with a long tenure, but actually for any person. I am very proud that today I can use my skills to manage these two worlds in the right way, because the most important thing for me is the mission related to communication and cooperation. For this you definitely need a lot of good will, and a positive attitude, the results then will definitely surprise us positively 🙂

In addition, what is important, today there are many people from Ukraine who have found their home in Poland, so the market is constantly developing, finding new solutions that improve the quality of life for all” – Agnieszka Kolanowska says. According to Agnieszka, the most effective actions in management implemented by the leader are:

  • Understanding ourselves and our own position

Defining the mission and values we deliver. And then clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of each team member within the project or task.

  • Understanding and analyzing the situation in which we currently find ourselves

In the market as a whole, as well as internally. This means that the leader must provide an objective assessment of the team’s successes and shortcomings, and offer constructive recommendations for improving performance.

  • Respect

To the other person, his/her opinion. Ensuring open and effective communication. Creating opportunities for open exchange of ideas and consideration of each other’s views.

  • Acceptance

There are things that we can influence, for example, when it comes to recruiting or helping to find employees, but there are also things that we have no control over. Therefore, we should not waste time on things that are beyond our control, but only have the strength to accept the situation. Today we have to help a lot of people, find them jobs, and many companies lack the right personnel, so we have to put it all together.

  • Flexibility

Means understanding goodwill to solve problems together and find a different approach. Because sometimes it is important not to get stuck in a particular way of solving a problem and make it unchangeable.

Sometimes new possibilities open up when you look at a situation from a slightly different perspective. You can stay at the bottom and never try to climb to the top, or you can climb a little higher, discovering new possibilities.

There is a saying: “Some leaders are so afraid of failure that they don’t start acting. And the only sure way to score a failure – is to not act.

According to Agnieszka, we need to observe market changes and adapt to them, which can be put into a metaphor with a train. When a train comes and you don’t know where it’s going, you can get on and try to see or learn something new, or you can stay on the platform, wondering where you could be if you got on.
